Puppy Services
Congratulations on your new puppy!! We are here to help with everything you need to survive (and thrive) throughout puppy-hood and into adult. Here are some of the services we offer for you and your pup:
Class Series
Puppy 1 (10-20 weeks)
In this rolling admission four-week course, we'll focus on essential foundational skills and socialization for your pup. Foundational training will cover key behaviors such as building engagement and attention, trading items to prevent resource guarding, leash walking, recall, sit, down, leave it, and proper greetings. For socialization, we’ll provide time for puppies to interact during class and discuss how to prepare your dog for handling, vet visits, new environments, and life in Chicago!
Puppy 2 (5-12 months)
In this 4 week course, we'll work on strengthening behaviors like leash walking, stays, recall, and leave it along with introducing a few new ones. We'll also be giving some tips about how to tackle life with an adolescent pup!
Playgroups
Puppy playgroups are designed to help puppies during their critical socialization period learn to interact with other puppies, people, objects, and new experiences. For puppies under 5 months with at least one round of vaccinations one week prior to play. Link to the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior's position statement on puppy socialization. Playgroups are offered at least once a week and last for 45 minutes each with a maximum of five dogs per group supervised by a certified trainer.
Private Training
Prefer something more personal? Private training can be done in-home, virtually, or at an agreed upon offsite location. Sessions last one hour. Packages include an email follow up with notes, handouts, and videos along with email support between sessions.
